my bff Evan is one of my fave people to cook with. we grew up together as care-free husky-shorties. food — eating it, talking about it, watching it on tv — played an almost spiritual role in our lives. to be honest, we still regularly have long, deltailed conversations about food. actually he called me earlier today and we spent twenty minutes talking — about lobster rolls on brioch, lump crab cakes, stir fry, the pros and cons of wok cooking, challah, and chocolate chip cookies.

I didn’t get a very good shot of this meal, but I had to mention it on TK. grilled chicken breast, olive oil, s&p rub. after it was cooked we tossed it in this incredible celantro pesto I got at the boca farmers market (the only redeming item at the otherwise pathetic excuse for a local foods market). the veggies are sliced zucchini, yellow squash, and vidalia onions, tossed in olive oil, s&p, and garlic powder. the steak was an especially tough sirloin, and not worth a second bite, unfortunately.

the vino is mark west cab sauv, a personal favorite.
